I came out to my beloved Tacoma this morning to leave and I saw a fairly consistent leak right under the engine bay. I got down to take a gander at it and it is coolant for sure. I looked up to see where it was coming from and it was on my oil pan making it's way down.

I've looked at the repair manual and I am not able to get an idea of where the possible leak is occurring.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried opening the hood to search for the leak? I doubt if you'll be able to find the leak source in the repair manual.

I looked in the engine bay and got under with no definitive signs of any leaks. Annnnd I can't really get a good look behind the intake manifold.

Check around the outlet for the coolant bypass pipe, it should be behind the thermostat housing. Sometimes it gets crusty with coolant around this fitting if there is a slow leak. I first noticed mine as dried coolant on the bottom of my lower oil pan

This bad boi gots a warped head. Tis the coolant leak, it warped when my radiator was damaged by a rock of some sort and then over heated.

Long behind me is my engine replacement and I had a random thought and wanted to get some info. I read that water sloshing sounds usually come from the dashboard area, which I did have from this warped head and failed engine gasket. My question is- What causes this water sloshing sound in the dashboard?

I believe it has to do with the heater core and possibly some air within the system.

My water pump started dripping around 150,000 miles. Pretty quick, easy and cheap replacement. Yes it also could be the coolant bypass pipe underneath the intake manifold.
