Scenic routes around the Bay Area with spots to BBQ for the day

Does anyone have any recommendations for places within 2 1/2hrs of San Jose that are OHV accessible with turn outs I can just pull up with the rig, bust out the awning, and cook something up for the day whilst enjoying a nice view? Preferably a spot with not too many people...and free of course lol.

I've been to Hollister Hills before but looking for something more private. I was also looking into checking out Old Coast trail in Big Sur, but I can't find any information on people actually posting up.

I’m here in Sonoma County. Nice service roads with a bunch of views real nice IMO. WALKER RIDGE. Also a bunch of different trails off main service road.

 

I’d like to go up soon. Your welcome to join probably going up with Wife and dogs.

It was posted around this time last year, do you think it would be snowing there right now?
