    Heya.

looking to make a snow run in the suburban tomorrow to let the 5 yr old and 1.5 yr old and dog run and play in the snow for a bit.

we are looking for someplace that isn’t super busy, or a formal play area as we won’t be sledding or anything.

we went up a few times last year out past Lincoln and it was great but each time we lucked out and mistakingly found a place that we just pulled over on a side road in the forest.

kiddo got to play and make snow angles and the dog ran and played to her delight and exhaustion.

trying not to leave it to chance this year and my memory sucks.

timing is last minute, happen to have a day where my wife is off work and I’m not at a doctors appointment.

can anyone recommend a spot, feel free to PM me if you want to keep it hush.

I will have 4wd, duratracs, chains... but I’m not trying to get onto a trail in this vehicle and with the wife and kids solo.

    I’ll be coming from concord.
    Trying to make some memories!
    thank you!

I think that's what youll have to do is just go up any hwy and explore for yourself. I dont like any busy snowparks either. Snow level and how far you go up will depend on if there was recent snow dump. Hopefully anyone that has been up recently can chime in. Otherwise, just keep an open mind and go exploring with the family. Have fun and stay safe.

Theres a spot before Pinecrest Lake near Long Barn along the 108 that is perfect for that. Not sure how close it is to you but its a great hill and its free.

little sweden? That place has been bought and they brought in boulders and the hill side is no more.

OP if you dont want busy, then the 108 corridor is not the place, shits insane. It is priuses and 2wd silverados everywhere, chp finally start enforcing chain controls this year and now you will sit on the highway in traffic for hours waiting to go through the checkpoint.

    Ugh yea.

last time we went up, we jumped off the freeway just north of Lincoln, took side roads north and found a beautiful spot in the trees.

I think that’s going to be the deal again.

today didn’t happen. The missus turned off the alarm clock last night... on purpose...

better to ask for forgiveness than permission... or in her mind “cause she said so”.... lol

    4 run, 2 don't
    OP

Just went out to Bald Mountain near Shaver Lake; right off Dinkey Creek there are a lot of turn off's where one could park and play in the snow. Could also take a drive if you were so inclined -
