Anybody know if putting some Lubeguard shudderfix in my transmission would void my warranty ????

I wouldnt be afraid to try a bottle of Platinum .
Not the first time I have seen a brand new converter clutch with uneven mating surfaces .
Dealership will never know you put it in as long as you dont say anything .
When your transmission fails , dealerships just change out the transmission , they dont send off oil samples to a lab to determine if the fluid was tampered with

depends which way your truck is inclined but with the truck running in park , you should never get oil out the fill plug . To play it safe , make sure the truck is running when you do this .
Assuming you want to add Lubeguard ?

Yes sir. Front of the truck pointing upwards. Yikes that would get pretty hot considering the cat being right next to the fill plug no?

Thats how you fill these transmissions up and check them properly for a full level . Its hot . Lot of members get burnt . Be careful and you will be fine .
Have you checked for proper level or did you trust your dealer to do it ?

I asked the dealer to do it and they said it is at the appropriate level and it is documented. I would check myself as well but I’m in NJ and we’ve been pounded with snow and my driveway isn’t level.

Update: Im on my 2nd tank of 93 and on the premium tune. I think there’s some progress being made .. vibration has reduced but still there. Very slight vibration cruising at 55 mph and just under 1500 rpm. Im a little disappointed with the tune thus far as when trying to accelerate it feels like if you’re not pressing hard enough on the gas it wont go anywhere and if you press on it slightly harder it just wants to take off. Shifts seem like they take longer as well.
Thinking this is due to reset learning values though.

Just wonder if you ever resolved this. I’ve got a 3 month old 21” and I’m living the same nightmare. I hate driving truck. Had it tuned & though it helped a little I still get the shutter during light throttle between 40-55 mph. It’s driving me crazy.

I bought my son a 2007 4Runner with 120k. He has 150k on it now. It shifts better than my 2019. It "makes sense." They %$#&ed up with this transmission.

to be honest i had no issues up until 4,000 mi. I actually loved how the truck rode and shifted up until then. I couldn’t stop driving it which was how much i was loving it. Once 4,000 miles hit everything went downhill. I can’t stand driving this truck anymore

My 2021 has this issue. When I took it for the first service I brought up this and the RPM surge when turning the wheel at idle/slow speed. They said the RPM surge when turning the wheel is a normal characteristic of the truck and didn’t want to discuss it much after that. We went for a test drive and they acknowledged the ‘jerking’ several times. Mostly between 35mph and 50mph at a cruising speed and/or a light acceleration. When I picked it up they said they balanced the tires and that fixed it. On the paperwork I saw they also reset the transmission. While driving away and for the last couple weeks it had been better but still had a slight shudder. It seems to be gradually coming back and getting worse. My thought is maybe as the transmission is settling in again from the ‘learning’, but I obviously don’t know for sure. My Tundra never had any issues but this Tacoma seems to have a bunch of quirks so far and I’m only at around 2,600 miles.

Dealership claimed they checked my transmission fluid and it was full. I dont think i trust them though and I’ll be getting the supplies i need soon to check it our for myself. Reading across the forums I’m suspecting that this behavior from the transmission may be low ATF. In my experience, right after resetting the transmission, its just some hard shifts and the truck feeling uncoordinated. Shifts get more predictable as time goes on but shudder is worse
My truck also surges when turning the steering wheel. Its a shame these trucks have so many quirks.

New to the forum and new to Tacoma’s ..first new car ever got 2021 SR5 .. I’m having this shudder , vibration that everyone is describing .. I started feeling it around 500 miles and it drives me crazy.it now has 1600 miles . I have spent hours on these forums reading about it . I finally got it to the dealer this week. The service rep was cool about it and said that this definitely does not sound normal. Well they called me today and said that they had 2 techs who also own the same truck drive it , they said that this is a normal characteristic of the truck.. after all the reading I’ve done I was kinda expecting this answer .. I was at least relieved that they admitted to feeling the vibration because I have read some dealers say that they don’t feel it . Anyways the rep said he has a 3rd tech that has been at the dealer for like 30 years that he is gonna have take a final look at it on Monday.. moving forward, I was just about to get this ov tune but after doin further reading , I’m finding people are saying it dosent really fix this shudder so idk what to do .. it just drives me crazy that I bought my first brand new 40k truck
Which I haven’t made my fitst payment on and it drives like shit.. even more so that I did all this research and people said Tacoma was the go to truck ..
