Hey guys. Just did a steering wheel update and thought I would share. Unfortunately, I didn't take a before pic but here is the after. Nothing crazy, just replaced the steering wheel with one that has audio controls which I didn't have before. My leather wrapping was wearing a bit too on the old steering wheel. Steering wheel was $100 used. I did have to buy a new clock spring for $50 on Amazon that had the plug in for the audio controls. I also had to transfer the airbag igniter to the new wheel as it was missing on my new one. Everything is working great. No additional wiring was needed.[IMG] No lights on the dash.

Your next steering wheel upgrade will be to add the bluetooth controls to the right side...lol

Already done. Installed a GTA car kit which plugs into the CD changer outlet at the back of the head unit. Recommend it. Here is the website https://www.gtacarkits.com/

Think this would work with an aftermarket head unit?

From what I've seen, you will need a module for the steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket head unit. If your talking about the gta car kit, that works with the oem stereo and not aftermarket units. I'm sure you can get it to work, but the intention is to use it with the stock unit.
