I have a 2020 sr5 has anyone figured out how you can hold the brake and gas without it stopping you. If there’s anyway to by pass it or turn it off. Thank you for any information.

Might just be me, but I’m a tad confused by your question.

Not sure if it will work, but try holding down the traction control button for a few seconds. It bypasses some of the safety features.

Whenever you try and do a burnout a message will show up and say “accelerator and brake depressed simultaneously”

    Pretty cool.

So if I’m understanding this correctly then. OP is having an issue where the brake input is overriding his gas input?

Yes for instance if you try doing a burnout it won’t work the brake will override you from giving it gas

Back in the days when I might be interested in spinning tires to impress people you would be laughed at for cheating by using the brake.

Wheels straight, no dirt or gravel, dry pavement, no brake pedal -- boot to the boards and if your ride had enough nutz you impressed everyone at the burger stand with your burn out -- if you couldn't do it (honest) then you had to spend more money. $$$

You have a 1 year old truck, why do silly stuff like that anyway???

The question makes sense to me. In an older car you can step on the brake with your left foot and punch the gas with your right foot to do sick burnouts. On a lot of modern cars there are safety mechanisms that cut throttle input when you have the brake depressed. OP is wondering how to bypass the safety systems. I honestly figured turning off VSC and TC would do the trick but apparently not.

How am I supposed to impress the ladies if I can't do a sick single tire burnout in the gas station parking lot?
