Anyone with an 2007 Tacoma Access cab have trouble finding a canopy with a 74” bed. (Measured from bulkhead to inside of tailgate). Evidently for my year they make a 73” and 74” bed and Leer doesn’t have a 74” option...

I think the bed is actually 73.5" from specs. Maybe the 73s work, I don't know. Following the thread.

FYI , I just went on the US Leer site , used the Fit my truck tool for a 2007 Tacoma Access Cab and had a choice of 73" or 74" caps

Correct but Leer doesn’t offer any 74” caps so I’m asking if there’s a good substitute out there.

Just about every model of Leer cap they make has a version that fits your truck.

Go to the leer dealer. They make shells that will fit and talking to someone there will get you the answers you're looking for.

I find it hard to believe that toyota had two different length long beds.

There are only one SB and LB size beds. The OP's dilemma is likely a LEER thing. I doubt you will see the size issue with other vendors such as ARE or Snugtop. OP, you need to call LEER to see what's the difference is between the 2.

The difference could even be because the bed size is 73.5" Leer just rounds one way or the other...

Like Sticky said you have to go into (or call) a Leer dealer. They know everything

I have had leer toppers on 2 different 2nd gen access cabs, and currently on my 3rd gen AC. I Bought the 2nd gen ones used but regardless, Leer makes the shell to fit your truck.

Bad info on the website, but it’s not like you can order direct. A Leer dealer should get you taken care of.

Alright my friends, I purchased a canopy. I ended up going 2 hours out of town to a Snugtop dealer. He said all those numbers are whacky and rough estimates. He called my 2007 Tacoma access cab a “6 ft bed.” As long as it fits I’ll take his word for it, he seemed to be very knowledgeable. All I can say is it better be nice for $2700 haha. I’ll post pictures later if anyone is interested. Thanks guys!

I feel like it's done on purpose so that dealers benefit and it makes it harder to find and trust things on the secondhand market. Glad you got one that you want. Look at the bright side, you can replace your truck with a 2015 and it should fit later ;). Definitely share the pictures.

That notion crossed my mind as well. Why are Leer and Snugtop the same company and I was getting 3 different measurements for my bed? Haha
