You plow snow with a stick shift?!?!

I don’t think even preppers were ready for this much mayhem.
I thought I was prepared for this. I’ve dealt with hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, snow emergencies from TX, LA, AK, MS. AL. FL, New England, the East coast and it has taught me to be prepared.

But I found I need more preparation. I have semi and non perishable food, a small Honda 2200 generator because 1 gallon will carry me for a day. A wood fireplace in case the power goes out in the cold, and of course 40 gallons of propane. What I will be getting is an inside propane heater for supplemental heat. IDK if they make a kerosene heater for indoors, but I’ll look into it. But fuel needs to be readily available in small 5 gal quantities too.

I don’t own a camper because I can move faster to safety without one. Plus I can rent or borrow one if I need to for camping. But I rather stay at a log cabin or I can use my tent.

I am still looking into a collapsible truck camper I can drop on the ground so I can stay out indefinitely, and move freely, as I have a feeling we have not seen the last of these great natural disasters.

This is a reason I have a 4X4 Tacoma too. It gives me the option to add more resiliency.

Our neighbors had this happen and they have an awful lot of damage to their home, not to mention all the water on the street now. That is a very good point to bring up. I have a check list I go thru when leaving home. The first one on it is to shut off the main water valve that goes to the home. Then Is the main electrical circuit breaker for the entire home. Barricade the garage door, and on from there. Everyone needs to have one before its needed.

I do. I'm not plowing as a business. Just my property and about 20 neighbours places. Easy.
