We've gotten about a foot since Sunday with another 2-3 inches tomorrow night into Friday expected. I had a couple buddies over last night and we each sat on a different bike drinking beers in the garage

Roads were decent today, actually, so I'm thinking tomorrow I'm back to commuting on the bike.

It kind of sucked where we lived in Montana because all the roads were straight and 55mph+. A lot more fun in Charlotte around town where I can cruise all over on slower roads.

    None... yet.
They note that he isn't associated with this effort. I've always found it weird when a "name" company no longer has anyone with the name attached to it. It would be like trying to rock to Dokken without Don!

I also find it odd that anyone would think, given the fairly stagnant state of motorcycling over the last several years, that resurrecting a twice failed brand is a good idea...

Agreed though it’s hard to believe he’s completely disconnected from the effort...and yeah risky to say the least. I won’t be buying one but still like seeing more motorcycles hit the market.

He went and started Feull, yeah? Making electric bicycles and I think eventually electric motorcycles.

One of those failures was Harley Davidson controlling it along with a bad economy. I feel bad for Erik, since he has great new ideas and keeps trying and gets knocked down.

I saw 57 on Wed next week. I might take mine out to make sure the tires still work and to piss off the neighbors. Not going far though.

I'm actually friends with Erik Buell on FB and have ridden with him once or twice years back. He just posted a statement to make sure everyone know this new business has absolutely nothing to do with him. Sadly enough when he partnered up with Harley back when Buell Motorcycles got started Harley trademarked the name Buell and when the closed that company down and later sold it off that sale included the trademark name and apparently a stipulation that Erik is not permitted to be involved in any future ventures the new ownership may start. Crazy how the man lost control of the use of his own name. It looks like the liquidation company that bought out the remains of EBR when it folded is behind this.

That sounds familiar, speaking of electric motorcycles have you ever ridden one? Curious to see what they're like but I feel like something will be missing

I'm ready for winter to be over, my snow blower is the only thing seeing use lately

Very cool you've ridden with him, and you're right that rings a bell I recall reading an article in Motorcyclist that talked about that whole saga.

Around 1997 they were starting up a group for Buell owners similar to he Harley Owner Group that had been established years earlier. Erik flew in to Wilkes Barre, PA and they were putting together a group ride for Buell owners and a chance to meet him. 2 coworkers, one on a Buell one on a HD, and myself decided to go. We met the group at Blocker's HD/Buell near Parryville, PA then left as a group and rode to Scranton, PA for a stop at that dealership and then on to Pocono Raceway for a motorcycle race. Erik led the segments and set a fairly brisk pace for the group of almost 50 bikes. I got him to autograph my top triple clamp when we were in Scranton and also a photo of me shaking his hand form earlier that year in Laconia at bike week. I've got a bunch of older Buell memorabilia at home including sales literature for the original RR1000 and RS1200 models, some old newsletters, color slides showing the 1995 and 1996 models and the color charts from the dealership. Spent some time chatting with him around 1999 when he came to the York, PA open house event for Harley Davidson as well. I've also got the CD he released with his band the Thunderbolts. He's also a pretty decent guitar player.
