Remote start

Red lights are wearing out my brakes. Please someone do something about those red lights!!

in my case it’s the blue lights wearing down my brakes....or is it the hard driving I do when responding to calls. Oh well

So I’m interested in this mod your talking about... a mod to bypass the engine turning off once the door is opened. Have you done this personally, or seen this done on here? I’d love an actual link to see it and directions to follow if possible. Don’t want to just start pluggin’ and playin’ with wires, and then fry something important.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers!

as does my buddies Jeep and his wifes Murano, we just talked about it the other night at dinner.

 

My buddy did it on his 2019 pro with the n2 designs kit, though I’m pretty sure it would work on any kit. He’s going to help me do mine next time we’re both in town. Problem is, he works in east Texas and I’m a travel nurse currently working in Tucson. We only see each other at our monthly Army Reserve weekend in Louisiana (where I live when not on a contract). But we have been having “virtual” drill because of Covid. Unless something changes, we should have actual physical drill in April. At that point, I’ll video/take pics of the process.

he told me it’s basically looping a wire that connects to a little push pin in the door assembly. Like, you can push the pin in and the truck thinks the door is shut, and turns off the dome light, etc. evidently that is the trigger that shuts off the truck when you open the door

 

Doing this would mean no dome light comes on and when you don't remote start your fuel system doesn't prime before starting the car? Assuming the truck uses the door opening to prime itself? Anything else?

 

Like I said I don’t know all the details, but he’s got it figured out. I’ll try to get some more info from him. It’d be helpful if he’d just join the forum lol

That may be for models that use keys and not the push button starters?

 

You have it backwards, it shuts off when the door is physically opened.

 

You know for centuries man has tried and tried to bottle his fart. Every generation they still try and fail. Same thing with Tacoma that has push button start. It will not stay running on remote fart I mean start when you open the door. Unless of course you have an sr or sr5 with regular key start. Or manual according to n2.

 

This is the stupidest thing... man made and designed this safety feature, but man can’t figure a way to turn it off?? Civilization is so f*cked!

That’s how the 2021 works.

 

I have a 19 with the n2 unit. Mine doesn’t turn off until you actually open the door. Unlocking it doesn’t turn it off.

 

Gotcha, I had a 2017 and 2018. Both shut off when the door physically opened. 2020 may be different. I suppose I will find out when my 2021 finally arrives!
