What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

@chasemach1, How did you get your winch switch to sit flush like that, and how come your top 3 are sticking out a bit?
Mine stick out like that too, trying to get them to look super flush and OEM. Starting to think its the switch panel?

 

Remote start would be handy is this situation.

 

Same.. mine's been great so far. The switch cover they include doesn't quite fit in a stock opening and it's been triggering my OCD. Contemplating drilling into a switch blank instead, but I'm a little worried the remote box won't fit behind.

 

Went to see the fire falls a few years ago, pictures do not do the phenomenon justice! Plus Yosemite in the snow is amazing!

 

This place is empty (except for firefall) because of Covid reservations. We were the only ones in line at the Base camp cafeteria this morning

I have the SR with no seats / speakers in the back and was wondering....

would it sound better to just get a better set of speakers for the front doors and be done with it (kicker tweeters already installed) and not even messing around with the rear speakers??


.......(Especially since I do not have the wiring for the rear door speakers though probably not super hard as it is supposedly in the in the cab somewhere...)

I think that's everything. I had to fuss with it a little because the handles would droop down and get hit by the doors when I closed them. I ended up making the straps as short as possible to keep them taut. When I snugged up the hex bolts, the straps lifted a bit - you may be able to see in the photos, the handles sort of stick out rather than flopping straight down. I also trimmed the strap close to the washer for a cleaner look. Then burned it with a lighter to keep them from fraying. - see pix. It was a fun project. My wife thinks I'm 12.

Any speaker upgrade is better than the $5 Toyota spent on the speakers in the Tacoma.

Same here. Mother bought a new Ford Focus with in automatic to replace a Hyundai with a 5-speed. Talk about an embarrassment of a transmission. First time I drove it I thought something was broke. It will literally grind and shutter while shifting through the lower gear range.

Hyundai had over 250k miles and ran like a top. Focus started having transmission problems around 30k.

Shop told us the same thing, gave us run-around for a while until Ford admitted to it being junk. It’s been a PITA for my parents and I will not drive it LOL.
