Na, I like to drag my hermit uncle with me. He enjoys weekday adventures to avoid as many people as possible. The best is with my boy blue!

My first exposure to MOAB was on our grand tour of the US a few yrs back. We ended up in the area the same time Easter Jeep Safari was full swing. We had no idea it was a thing. Ran gemini(or whatever) with a convoy of super jeeps lol crazy fun.

    Try -12ºF ;)

At least that's the coldest in california.

When we were out that way in November it dropped to 2-5ºF on some nights

So nice. One or two others here but I would never have known if they didn't say hello.

The North entrance is closed in winter, so visitors have to enter from the South. That can add a lot of drive time if you're not expecting the closure. Or so I hear...

It's crazy beautiful there though and worth a visit any time of year; Skis or snow shoes definitely add to the experience in winter.

As a former NorCal resident who lives in So Utah, I highly recommend the Grand Staircase/Escalante area near Kanab.

Cottonwood Canyon Road, Skutumpah, check them out......then check the BLM website for road conditions.

Gemini bridges? My husband and I go out there once or twice a year. We love it, best wheeling.

The good news is my wife and I are also house hunting in Provo area. We love this state and what It has to offer. When we lived in Colorado we constantly looked for reasons to make it over to Canyonlands and Moab. We think we can be in Utah for good in about 2 months (we hope).

The “Ho Made” pies at the thunderbird in Orderville/Mount Carmel junction are really good and you can take a picture of the sign to send to all your friends for a laugh. Horseshoe bend is worth seeing if you haven’t seen it before. Dead horse point if you’re going north through Moab. Goblin valley if you keep going further.

I’m not sure how accessible Fish lake is this time of year, I’d guess not very. The freemont river and sevier river hold some good sized trout.
