I have the knob from my 6spd PRO and the adapters for the Hurst shaft that I'd be willing to sell you at a good price. @tonered
I'm using the retro Hurst T-handle which I love.

Thanks for the offer. I appreciate it! But, I like my @7r41lbr34k3r knob.

I just need to get out of my own head.

    No problem. :)
If you don't mind I may PM you later with a few (possibly stupid) questions about the tune for the MT?

    Here's that precise interaction:

    Me:
    Him:

It's annoying because he sells the knobs on his website for $30-40 (not $10), those adaptors take 30 seconds to google (https://www.drakeautomotivegroup.com/shift-ball-adapter-12m-hurst-356036-h), and he's already carrying stuff from Hurst, how hard could it be to stock two parts and give folks the option? Or even just drop ship a stick to someone... I don't doubt that it took a bunch of effort to develop, but the total lack of interest in any future improvements/changes is what throws me off.

Also, given the price of the stick and knob, I assume it would be a ~100 price difference.

That said, it's still the best product in the market, so he doesn't need to change the product to cater to us know nothings. I have a TRD ball on order and am trying to find somewhere to get an adapter without paying $10 for shipping. Will try to sell the Hurst one on Ebay or something.

Oh man. That is exactly what I don't want to get into.

That adapter is on Amazon. It is going to be about $30 delivered. I recently paid $20 for a different adapter just to get a female coupler on my Viair. Sometimes life is like that.

The other possibility is seeing if @7r41lbr34k3r might make a run of adapters or knobs in the Core thread?

My understanding is that it's viewed by many as a feature rather than a flaw ;)

Since you’ve had all three, between the URD and TRD versions, which did your prefer? Pros/cons of each? I have a custom knob for the stock stick threads and don’t want to mess with adapters. Also, I’m assuming you have a 2nd Gen as I’m not sure a short shifter was made by TRD for the 3rd Gen?

I had the URD on both my 2nd and 3rd gens, but not the TRD, and switchd to the CORE on my 3rd. It's really personal preference. The biggest difference is between the TRD/URD and the CORE. CORE gets rid of the stock floppy donky dong shifter shaft that has a rubber isolator in it. That is the source of a lot of the numbness and lack of precision. Core is the shortest throw of all of them, and is certainly the tightest/notchiest. To my knowledge, you are correct, there is no TRD shifter for the 3rd gen.

As for the knob, the adapter is not that complicated. It's a bushing with threads inside and out, and doesn't add anything to the install time. Loc-tite it to the shifter, install the knob (without loc-tite) and forget about it.

Ok, question for both of you, can you still use the stock leather “boot” and is the core stick the same size height-wise as stock? Reason I’m asking is I bought a custom weighted knob and it connects to the stock boot. I’m assuming if the length of the stick is taller, this would be an issue.
