    I like the truck.

I was on the fence for the first several months, but most of the drivability issues were corrected early on for me via updates or just letting the truck (finally) learn. I’ve towed and hauled things that neared the limits and it did very well in my opinion.

Comfortable for long trips. Love the seats. Just fit me well. I have 3 kids in the back and we make it work. Plenty of power for passing even without the ect button, and cruises great. Never really had issues with gear hunting, or at least I should say downshifting on hills does not bother me.

I had some crazy vibration issues that could be felt in the steering early on. That also magically settled out with miles. I’m at 58k+ which is low for a 2016, but she’s a keeper and hope to see 258k.

Love the well thought out displays. I also have a 2020 expedition that has bigger displays that are full of information I don’t need, presented in ways that are difficult to understand. Toyota got it right in my opinion.

My wife digs the truck, too!

Glad I found this site early on. If you can stomach sifting through some of the distractions there’s some smart people in here with great info!

    carry on.

Awesome! I love my taco as well and planning to keep for at least 15 years. I also think it’s got plenty of power, although it seems to be an unpopular opinion.

There were a few mods that I did to make my truck 99% perfect for my needs.

I'm at 30k and it's been near perfect. I'll keep it for another 5 or 6 years and then buy an electric one. I plan on brakes and tires along with oil changes.

Awesome. I’m in the same boat. It’s been five months and I’m finally settling into the truck. It’s growing me. It was touch and go for awhile, but it’s turning out to be everything I hoped it would. Toyota definitely gets more right than wrong and I agree about all the useless info available on a dashboard. Ford in particular designs dashboards and buttons that aren’t very user friendly IMO, something Toyota excels at.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Nice to see good, favorable comments.
I'm still adjusting to my new '21 TRD OR AC with an AT. First AT in decades. Technology in the Tacomas has changed dramatically since '06.
I was not sure about giving up my 14+ yo '06 TRD OR AC (6 spd MT), but the New England winters can wreak havoc on the running gear & various fasteners. Still have though - been dragging my feet on putting it up for sale. It's been a great ride despite the frame swap-out in 2014-15. Will no doubt last the next owner a long time.
I'm hopeful that my '21 will perform and last as long or longer.

5 years with mine. It has taken me on many a venture and withstood all the abuse I've thrown at it like a champ. It gets to stay.

3.5 years, 83K miles and no regrets. It's been 100% reliable and capable of most of things I need it to do.

    3 years and 78k.

Kinda wish I'd gotten the 4.6l V8 instead of the 2.7l....maybe if the wife's GX stays parked long enough I can make it happen.
