    If its just a short time before the new terminals come in and these are nice and snug with no movement, as long as its covered and secure I don't see an issue. Then again, for me its an OCD thing so I'd either pick some up locally or disconnect until the new terminals arrive.

    More than likely fine though. Just re-do it as soon as possible.

    My concern was some of the actual terminal is touching the plastic, didnt want to melt anything...

    Plastic is an insulator, you’ll be fine. Plus the lugs themselves are metal and touching plastic. They’ll be fine, as stated above, as long as everything is tightened properly and no arcing occurs.
