    My boss recently submitted his retirement papers. I immediately started preparing for the opportunity to promote to that position.

    Being Civil Service, the process is highly regimented and structured. I must be able to carry a conversation regarding regulatory issues and concerns, employee discipline, budgeting and finance, Equall Employment Opportunity, interviewing, employee selection, and evaluation, and a whooole lot of other stuff. And it all must fall within the framework of Civil Service employment. Nothing to it.

    My boss is gone June 1st, but it is unclear when his position will be filled. I feel I have a reasonable grasp on what I need to do, but it will be very difficult to accomplish if I spend every waking minute on Tacoma World..... :(

    Don't get me started.

    You'll need the front locker when you use some vacation time and head over to Shaver Lake with me. You'll also need 35's but we'll work on that later. Baby steps. lol
