Have an issue with the iPhone charging sta. on my 2019 sport. Yesterday after a visit with my Bro I put my phone on the station and headed home, 100 mi. The phone was on the plate about two hrs, the yellow light was in(which I assumed meant it was charging my phone) when I got home I grabbed the phone as I left the truck, it was rather warm to the touch. About 10 minutes later I scanned the phone for stuff and other stuff and got a notice that the phone was down to 20%. Ideas, thoughts?

Just because the light is on does not mean it is charging. The light is just a power indicator. My phone also has to be positioned correctly or it does not charge. I know it is charging when my phone beeps and the green battery bar ops up for a second (iphone x)

Yes that charging station is fickle! 2019 OR and it has to be perfectly lined up to get it to start charging.

Yep that charging station is a waste of add on money. They should have just made that space a cubby hole ( which is what most people use it for anyway ) and gave us something useful like remote start that doesn’t cost to use every month.

Remote start would have been nice. It was in the truck when I bought it, I don’t pay anything for this each month.

Get a $1.00 sheet of black foam board and a hobby knife. Cut a piece that fits in the cubby. Make a cutout for your phone so it drops in the correct spot every time. It is a cheap solution that is easily replaceable when you upgrade your phone. Just pull the old one out and use it as a stencil for the new phone.
Should you have to do this? No. However, wireless chargers are notoriously picky and alignment is not standardized. I have seen a lot of wireless charges in cars that are too small to support many larger phones and don't allow for moving the phone to match the inductive pad. The oversized charging area in the Tacoma allows you to adapt to a large number of non-standardized devices.

Many iPhone owners don't acknowledge the existence of any other phone.
    It's actually an interesting phenomenon.

I used to charge my Samsung Galaxy on it. Would usually error out after a while, but before it would error out due to overtemp, phone wouldnt really charge, it would really only maintain its current charge. Only good for an emergency I guess.
