What kind of bed rack are you using and how are you securing the kayaks to it? I originally was going to get a roof rack, but honestly I don't like the way they look. I like the smooth top of these trucks. I'm thinking a bed rack would be my next logical step so that way I can haul the kayaks and still have room in the bed for supplies. I also have a Lo-Pro rollup tonneau cover.

@mrboyd10 Congrats on your new truck. I think you made the right choice - the OffRoad. Lots of mods you can do to make your truck your own. If you plan to keep your Tacoma for a long time, undercoating is highly recommended. Beef up the suspension and tires to make it much more fun truck to ride. I can go on and on and on here, but sky is the limit....hope to see your first mod in the near future.

Total Chaos bed stiffeners CaliRaised bed tie-downs CaliRaised 0-degree, bolt-on rock sliders Meso Customs Gas Hole JDM console and dash organizer Ceramic front tint Ceramic windshield coating Ziebart underbody and rust proofing Taco Garage Dashtop Multi-Mount (DMM) Black SR5 Grille Surround Swap Tacos4cheap Grille Badge Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller Car Solutions Anytime Camera Mod TacoMods Radio Knobs Desert Does It Seat Jackers
    My most useful mods:
    • Taco Garage DMM. Requires minimal drilling, but it looks OEM, and I don’t have something attached to my windshield or vent.
    • I added additional tie downs to the front of the bed (I went with CaliRaised’s version, but I may switch them out to a D ring).
    • Total Chaos bed stiffeners. I got them mainly bc I plan to run a shell, but the additional tie downs come in handy too.
    • The console and glove box organizers, which I saw were shared earlier.
Planned useful mods for the future:
    • Better halogen headlight bulbs (read the mega thread on headlights if you plan to upgrade).
    • Diode Dynamics SS1 Fog Lights in Yellow
    • Redarc Towpro Liberty trailer brake controller. Looks OEM.

Lomax tonneau cover, oem bed lights, AJT Design chrome delete, black out badges & tailgate letters, AVS hood deflector & vent visors, Solkie tech hood supports, interior LED lights, Tufskinz mud guards, RedArc TowPro Liberty, bed mat, kicker speaker upgrade, Hikari ultra H11 low beams, Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs in yellow, Meso customs total taillight stage 1. Coming soon: Compact powered sub install Future mods planned: bigger tires (265/75/16) BILLSTIEN 5100 lift
Those were bought for my truck before it came in. Definitely useful and not expensive.

You might like hood struts if you are going to do your own maintenance or be under there doing mods. There are a few brands. I have the no drill Solkie tec ones.
Some people like a tonneau cover some a topper some nothing.

Bed lights are easy and especially good if you have a cover so you can see in there at night. About $60

Window tinting definitely changes the truck and cuts heat and glare from the sun.
