My Tacoma is in the body shop for repair after an accident.

I got set up with a 2020 F-150 4x4 supercrew 5.0L V8 as a rental. I'm really liking the power and the size of the interior. Now I'm debating whether or not to trade in for an F-150 .

I don’t blame you. Nice configuration with the 5.0

Truck I drive for work is sometimes an F150 single cab and its probably more fun to drive than my taco

They are pretty massive inside. My parents have one and I've used it a few times. If you do end up with one you gotta do what everyone else around my area does with F150's. Body lift, massive black and chrome wheels, and little skinny tires. Oh and don't forget the overdone front lift where the bed looks like it's drooping with no load in the back.

I love the sound of the 5.0L V8.

I actually wanted the 3.5L Ecoboost to see what everyone is raving about.

I think the fuel economy is better on paper than in real life and I wouldn’t wanna own that outside of warranty. And you already mentioned the sound!!

Is it 5.0 V8 or one of Ecoboost engines? I imagine with either one of those engines, a single cab F150 would be silly fast.

I would just do a 2-3" lift and called it a day.

Comparing apples to chocolate covered titties here. Completely different trucks. Not even on the same level, one would say, not even comparable.

Ecoboost, but that short wheel base makes it so much better to handle Forest roads than the Chevy's and Dodges that I often have to use.

Do it, and then let us know when you sell it for another Tacoma. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have the F-150 for one week to play with which should give me enough time to make a decision.

I have both. My company truck is a 2020 F150, and my personal truck is my 09 taco. The f-150 is better than I expected. Huge interior, very comfortable, plenty of power (mine is an eco boost), gets about 20mpg all around in the 50k miles i put on it this year, and it has the creature comforts my taco doesn't have. (no shit, 2020 vs. 2009) The 4wd and handling in the snow/ice/mud have been way better than I expected, and it just has regular street tires. A set of AT's would only make that better.

If I was a dude just looking for a do it all every day pickup to drive, the f150 would be near the top of my list. It would probably be above the Tacoma on that list because of how comfortable it is and how much more power it makes. Even comparing it to the 3rd gen tacoma (my uncle lives 10 minutes away and has a 2020 TRD Pro Taco) the F-150 is nicer and more comfortable, at the same price point. My .02 worth.
