My Icon tubular UCAs arrived with the bushing zerks not installed, don't want to screw these things up right out of the gate.

After about a turn and a half the zerks felt pretty darn tight:

Should I attempt to tighten them more?

Bro, I had this on my total chaos LCAs. It’s probably the powder coat. You should have ran a tap to clean the threads.

i didn’t do it and cross threaded them, but they work so I’m happy. Later I’ll drill and tap them. I May get away with just replacing the zerks of the threads on the LCA are good

They should sit flush, you can test them on the truck and if it pushes out of the threads it may be an issue.

I haven't borked them up yet ... I stopped wrenching on it when it got unexpectedly difficult.

    Are the zerk threads 1/4" 28 ?

i dunno, mine are for a Lca and not uca from a different company.

U can Try and clean the threads with a tap and die. Or call icon, but good luck. Customer service is sub par.

I contacted Icon online and promptly received this response:
"They are a tapered pipe thread that will get tighter as you tighten them up. You can get at least another turn out of those."

I was indeed able to get another turn out of them, and Icon confirmed the following zerk install looked good:
