anyone got any recommendations on an air compressor? i was looking at some of the viairs, but they seem to only have the car battery alligator clamps. looking for something small-ish and portable that plugs into a normal wall outlet so i can use at home and with the outlet in the bed of my truck. something that can do bike tires and truck tires would be ideal

I've been kind of eyeing this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZXR9P6R/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8

The CFM is almost double that of the Viair that I was looking at. Supposedly it fills truck tires very quickly. Does not have AC cord though, so you wouldn't be able to use in the house.

Walmart has a cheap oil-less 3 gal compressor that gets good reviews for about $50. That could be an option for the house.

You would be better off spending $5 more and getting this Viair 88P.

    https://www.amazon.com/Viair-00088-...e1be4&pd_rd_wg=UNlsJ&pd_rd_i=B005ASY23I&psc=1

I bought this bag to keep it in.

The Viair 88P can run forever without overheating in my experience compared to the nameless brands. I just used mine yesterday to air a car tire up from less than 20psi to about 34 in under 2 minutes. I have an 88p in 2 of our vehicles and Viair is a relatively reputable brand of 12v compressors.

Honestly it's hard to match the Viair's duty cycle in a portable (read cheap or expensive, no in-between) inflator. Being able to run it continuously for 25 minutes is extremely impressive

Alright you guys sold me on the viair. Is the end of the hose the universal type? So I can get pretty much any nozzle for the end? The pictures make it look like some screw on thing, not what I'm familiar with from working at a bike shop

It's a normal schrader valve connector. It screws on and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I should say that my 88p came in its own bag that I didn't have a problem using. I don't know if they all come with the bag though.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I am going to pick up a pack of extra fuses just to keep in the bag. I see that Viair 20 amp fuses are way more expensive then the Bussman 20 amp fuses.......but the appear to be the same fuse. I hope there is nothing different about them and its just a name brand thing?

Yeah you have plenty of room. Mine did not come with a bag as some peeps are stating theirs did. But I knew that when I ordered it so I bought the Rothco tool bag at the same time.

Any recommendations for a locking pelican-type box to put on a roof rack? Amazon or not. I'd prefer something that doesn't look exactly like a rifle case, to make it SLIGHTLY less tempting to steal, but I know the form-factor kind of lends itself to that look regardless. HAHA, give me a clear window so they can see it's just a bunch of tie-downs inside.
