CB Radio Mounting in the little storage, in front of Shifter

Has anyone cut out the little cubby space in front of the shifter to mount a CB/GMRS/HAM radio for internal mounting? Sorry I don't have the photo to show where. Would like to see any examples before I start ripping stuff apart.

 

I did the following Google search which turned up a bunch of threads that cover this very thing. I too have been thinking about where to install coms.

I just done a search and abunch did pop up. I had different mounting spots and trying out various antennas. Now I'm kinda thinking of mounting my new radio within that cubby spot and have a front fender mounted firstik antenna again.
