Just got a 2021 TRD Pro and I didn't see this info posted on the forum. Although I may have missed it too.

As expected Crawl and terrane select options are absent.
    Two cup holders

A little less expected is the lack of the following
    The JBL audio system
Smart Key proximity functions, push button start

Manuals don’t have push button start to make sure it doesn’t start it in gear.

You still have the electrically boosted brakes / ABS and the A-TRAC button, which works the same as MTS. Just that it has one setting, which is all that is really needed.

The smart keys / PTS system are prone to easy hacking. The physical key is still the best, IMHO. If you want to upgrade a bit there is the @MESO FlipFob:
    https://mesocustoms.com/collections/coming-soon/products/flipfob-tacoma

Honestly, the bigger deals on the MT are the accumulator and tall reverse gear. If you want more info there, search out ADM and / or 2LM.

Also note that the JBL system is hard to upgrade if you choose to. Most folks say that there is not a big difference between the two?

Toyota uses smart key with push button start in plenty of manuals, they just didn't feel like doing so on the Tacoma for some reason.

Certainly the clutch start cancel switch played a part in that decision, if you want to be able to use the clutch start cancel switch as intended in conjunction with smart key, the system would need to be reworked a bit. It feels like Toyota decided it wasn't worth doing that work and instead just didn't provide smart key at all.

I think some people would have preferred smart key over clutch switch cancel. Maybe they should have offered that for non off-road models.

A-TRAC replaces Crawl Control in the MT and l believe the reason for the key is it works in conjunction with the Clutch Start Cancel Switch.

Biggest thing it’s missing is the auto transmission. 6 speeds of automatic freedom.

I would have just preferred a live clutch. Our Saab was like that from the factory, as was my Ural. Quite nice.

After flashing a bunch of ATs, I'm still not down with PTS. But, I'll have to get over that paradigm in the future.

Sorry! A bit of semantics, but CC is more or less tricky 4Lo cruise control. MTS is variable traction control, so I think that relates more to A-TRAC?

CC + MTS when stuck is cool voodoo though. I don't think a person with MT skills is really missing out, but it does work.

Us manual owners got shafted on multiple fronts. The price we pay for getting to shift gears ourselves haha

True. I have to think about which hand to use when sippin'. Ever try to brake (smoothly) with your right foot? Always a good laugh. :D

    A. What cup holders are you "missing?"

    B. I have eight in my access cab (plus room for two more drinks at least in the rear doors) that will only have two people in it, max... I'd be happy to give you two of them.

    :rofl::rofl:

The cupholder to occupant ratio is all wrong. But, I am thinking about the chalk bag holders for the center console. :help:

We got that. It's called SFOB and a 7,250rpm limiter.
