I think that is where the engine is supposed to go somehow.

I'm not sure i'd recommend building a mid engine monster truck as a 'still learning' welding project.

The absolute best engines you could use are either a Caterpillar 3406B or Detroit 6V71; that said, neither are practical. Assuming you're actually serious, then leave the Tacoma alone, and BUILD a truck. As in, from the ground up. Something in the ~$250,000 range should get you up and running.

I suggest you go and start with some lego trucks. Report back when you’ve found success with that, and we’ll upgrade you to Tonka

Engine is the least of your concerns you need to get the rest of the truck up to snuff first the stock 4slow is a pretty good platform. Other than that I'd go start reading and researching more. If you're in the SE I don't know how much that high speed stuff you'll get to do that's a long haul out to the desert.

    lol!
But honestly I think he’s planning to mount it there, I’m seeing some sort of top fuel V-drive hydro/desert racer but with a side of really really reliable, it’s seems though that some people are getting irritated that this thread keeps going, I think it’s hilarious..

I don't know jack shit but I've been reading a whole bunch. It seems like there is tons of info out there on LS swaps and a beefy V8 would be a great platform to start going totally insane.

LS Swaps: How to Swap GM LS Engines into Almost Anything
GM LS-Series Engines: The Complete Swap Manual

If you're actually not trolling, that might be a good place to start and then upgrade later. Also, post pics!

Ya LS would be sweet, we do a lot of E-rod swaps into older hot rods and they are definitely the way to go, smog legal and stand alone. Not sure about fit into a first gen though..
But I’m pretty sure he’s trolling..

I forgot to ask earlier. And no one else has. So......................

What is a 'off road engine'?

Can you offer examples that you are looking to pick from?

    Is this why you said
Because you consider marine engines 'off road'?

Looking back, were you fully sober when you created this thread?

When I scroll through your other posts, get an odd feeling of
