Being mostly interested in reasonable cost, and ease of install on my 2018 I'm using

Garmin 56 1440p (Front only) that I got on sale for boxing day (had a gift card which made it an even easier decision)
    SimpleUSB Mirror to Dashcam Adapter
6" USB-A to Micro-USB (Right angle) cable from Amazon
Runnin 4 Tacos Garman->GOPro adapter so I can use the stock goPro location for mounting

I lose out on the powered when truck is off and the rear cam but it's simple and works for what I need.

    2nd this.
I Had the 750s on my subaru and now the 950s 2-channel in the taco. Provides video in the cab (in case a break in) and front facing to show accidents/wildlife/etc. I love the dashcam. easy to quickly connect and save videos to phone, all pertinent info like speed, dates, etc. It holds up to hold and heat and works great. I would recommend it. Small also.

    Blackvue.
    I personally run the DR750S 2ch.
Back in Thanksgiving, I caught a hit and run thanks to blackvue's parking timelapse recording. The impact wasn't hard enough to trigger impact recording, and timelapse recording really saved my butt during the insurance claim.

Blackvue now has the newer dr750X series, difference include:
    • Low power cut off for parking mode. Low voltage detection is now built into X model dash cams, meaning you don’t need a separate device to switch the dash cam off if your car battery is getting too low.
    • LTE 4G hot spot. The DR750X has a USB port to plug in a small 4G LTE wifi router module that will become a hot spot your dash cam can use to store videos on the cloud. This means you don’t have to use your smart phones hot spot, making it a stand alone setup.
    • Bluetooth is supported in the hardware, however it has not yet been finalized. Bluetooth connectivity may be added through future firmware updates.
    • Better in high heats. BlackVue has improved the overall tolerance to extreme weather conditions.
I have mine set up with a cellink battery pack.

How hard was it to hide the cable in the headliner? Been looking at aftermarket head units, and getting the aftermarket mic into the factory location has been the hold up. Figured I’d have to mess with the headliner but haven’t found anything great on here about that (a couple of threads saying it’s basically the same as Gen but nothing much else).

Has anyone looked at a front/rear camera system for motorcycles?

I think these have all the options with small cameras. Only down side is the control unit mounts separately. Glove box or center console lid could be likely locations. Typically weather proof.

    Just thinking..............

I may be an outlier here but I'm running the VanTop H612T rear view mirror since I can't see via the stock rear view mirror when my tent is on my bed rack. I ran the rear camera to the bed rack. And the front and rear is 2k each and records all the time to a SD card. Its not a perfect fit but on top of the rear view mirror but I love it since its 12 inches wide. I had a camera connected with the USB plug shortcut but moved to this due to my tent. That USB shortcut does not send enough power to this rear view camera setup so I have it hard wired to my in cab fuse box. It was purchased on Amazon. Great setup. Highly recommend.

question for anyone with the Viofo A129 setup. I've had this in my truck for several months, using their memory card and the ODB connector that also allows to monitor in parking mode.

Seems to work fine and overall happy with the device... until recently. After a few months, I noticed that the device wasn't actually on... and the red light was flashing. Manual says this indicates a firmware upgrade - which i did not (at the time) invoke. Rebooting the device will fix it for a short time.

I hooked up to a PC and did a new FW upgrade. Also contacted support at the same time. They also told me to do the FW upgrade, as well as reformat the SD card again (Fat32).

Still have flashing red light maybe every 10th startup. Anyone seen similar issues?
