Curt Brake Controller Harness // 2006 compatibility

Curt 51363 says it’s compatible with Tacoma’s 2007-2015 but not 2005-2006.

I realized this after I plugged it in and the controller lights up when I press the brake. Haven’t hooked up to a trailer yet.

Is the wiring different for 2005-2006? I’m thinking I’ll be just fine.

 

Looks like the only difference is a wire color on the brake power going to the trailer socket so a brake controller for an 06 will work fine for an 07-15.

I did notice the yellow cable on the truck side harness. The curt harness was in fact blue.
