Hey all. Just bought a new 21 Tacoma OR MT a month ago today. I’m a self employed farrier, and it replaced the 2011 Silverado I had for the last 6 1/2 years or so. Digging it a lot so far, got just over 4500 miles on it. The second picture is how it’s set up for now until the topper comes in for it.

Hey we did the opposite. I had a 06 and 17 Tacoma OR. Loved both of them I needed more room and a little more power so I traded my 17 in for a Silverado 5.3 v8 about a month ago. I miss my Tacoma but love the power and room that this Silverado offers. I had thought about trading up to a tundra but what turned me away was the poor gas mileage and the fact that the tundra will not employ the hybrid technology for another two years. What made you trade your Silverado for a Tacoma.

Truthfully? Because I could get a manual still. My Powerstroke is an 04, and it’s not getting any younger. So I wanted one more before they become entirely unobtanium. My Chev only got 16-16.5 mpg most of the time, but that was my only complaint. 260k (232k were mine), and I only put a few thousand dollars in work in it. I’d have kept it a while longer but I needed four full size doors. The extended cab wasn’t too short for my kids, but they had to get on and out the same side. I could have gone to another Silverado, and I contemplated a diesel Colorado. I put metric crap loads of miles on. My Chev got 42k last year. Diesel typically sees another 18k annually.

The Tacoma will have zero wasted bed space when I’m done. The Silverado had a lot of unused space in it, this May border not enough when I’m done, but I’m impressed with how things have come together so far.

It does. I’ll try to keep it clean for a while, but eventually the day to fat grind on the road, it’ll eventually be on the wash every few months, never vacuum it out, etc. Though my pet peeve has become trash. That irritates me.
