i am going thru my 2.7 in a 2008 base truck. putting the timing set on today and noticed the gear that transitions the rotation from the chain to the balance shaft gear has a lot of play. its the bigger gear that drives the gear attached to the passenger side balance shaft. looks like it has a replaceable bushing inside the gear that rides on a collar that bolts to the block. does anyone know if the bushing can be replaced? or do you have to purchase the whole assembly? is it a dealer only item? i can not find it online. thanks for any help

I'm having the same issue except I found a bushing/bearing in my oil pan. I pulled my motor and it looks like the balance shaft has had the paint beat off of it and it just flops around looking up from under it. I'm assuming that's where it came from but I can't find it online either.
