    Hello,

I am also trying to replace my rear break and turn light with led bulbs for my 2020 off-road.

do any of know of a brand that has built in resistors? I am trying to avoid tapping in to my factory lines if at all possible.

    thanks

I know very expensive but plug and play and they look amazing. One of if not my favorite mod I have done. Not cheap LEDs either.

Definitely worth it, best upgrade I've done to the rig. They're effing bright too, even at Stage 1.

FWIW, I was told the LED's have a lifespan of 11 years, so keep that in mind when you see the price. Not cheap junk LED's that will cook themselves after 1-2 years.

High quality setup all around - truck should have came this way stock, especially since 2nd Gens have LED tail lights lol

If you don’t want to go with meso, I’ve had good luck with lasfit leds in both my current Tacoma and previous 4Runner. All of their leds have the built in resistors. I’ve run them for years.

GTR Lighting Carbide CANBUS 2.0 have worked well for me. You'll need the non-CK style, no matter what you get. FYI.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
LEDs are attractive from multiple perspectives, but I wouldn't buy them based on longevity - I replaced the OEM bulbs in my '06 TRD OR with LEDs at 12 years. The original OEM bulbs were still going strong.

I would second the total tails. In addition to swapping the bulbs to LED, it also greatly improves the tail lights from a design point. Moving the turn signal to the reverse light, then adding another brake/running light. People can see you much better with the meso lights (even if they were not LED they would be brighter than stock)

Just to confirm, the back up light is also the directional? Do they do that with a two color LED or something else? I was thinking about getting the new Meso taillights when the come out, but that Total Taillight conversion looks really good.

Is this just a plug and play swap or is there more to the installation than that?

Obviously, just like anything/everything in life, quality is not a guarantee of longevity and longevity isn't a guarantee of quality.

It’s basically plus and play but you do need to remove the tail light to get the harness in there. 3 bolts hold the each taillight in. There are a few YouTube vids on the instal but these things are great. @MESO knocked it out of the park with this mod. Worth every penny IMHO. Take a first (or another) look at the videos on his site for the differences.

Thanks. I removed the taillights a few weeks ago to put in LED reverse lights. It's very easy and not at all unlike on my old Tundra.

I have some money burning a hole in my pocket, so I'll probably order them. The video at the website shows them pretty nicely.

Also worth every penny. I have Stage 2!!

The safety factor in having the entire "C" of the tail light used as a brake light is worth the price of admission.

Look at a stock truck with the brakes on and a turn signal running. Only the upper half of the "C" flashes, this is very easy to miss, especially if you are at an angle. Now substitute that with a bright amber flasher instead, and the benefits become obvious.

Another vote for the MESO Total Tails. They are pricey but the quality is there and it’s all plug and play. Totally worth it, IMO.

Isn't that what Stage 1 does? What does Stage 2 do differently?

I know, right. It's ridiculously cheap considering you won't be an idiot that cuts factory wiring. Plug n play with no cut wires is worth it to me...and apparently a lot of others since these are constantly sold out. Only a fucking moron would cut factory wiring these days if you don't have to. Especially if your warranty is still intact.
