I'm currently a college student so I can't afford much for much for my truck. I just payed it off and getting new tires since they don't have tread. I bought STT Pro since my brother got me a deal but the 285's rub like crazy. I was wondering if this lift would be a good temporarily lift, I noticed it doesn't have a diff drop, skid plate drop, draft shaft spacer, or a upper control arm. Would it be ok to run my truck without them? Thank you.

There’s nothing wrong with that lift itself, but if you’re going that route it could end up being more spendy than you’re anticipating. You’ll need a longer shock if you’re still on stock shocks. And I’m guessing you’ll have alignment issues without upgrading UCA’s.

Don’t forget lifts start to aggravate the needle bearing failure on the driver side front diff so that will also likely need to be replaced as well. If you plan on keeping sway bar I’d get a relocation kit. My sway bars hit my coils for a long time and made some bad clunks before I just ripped it off. Honestly if you don’t have the cash to throw at it I would wait a little.

    not to thread Jack-

Does the height of your lift determine this?

I’m installing a 1.75-2” lift soon and am trying to figure out what to expect

I should clarify it’s a full suspension refresh lift.. 5100’s / 884’s up front , 5100’s and AAL in the back. Not sure if that matters

I’ve seen stock rigs complain of this issue and mine went when I was still leveled, on 5100s. Then I fixed it when I got higher. A way to tell if the needle bearing is bad is if you have vibrations in 2wd and not 4wd. ECGS sells a new bushing with all the tools to complete the job. You do need the removal tool

You will definitely lose ride quality with the spacer and will still have to cut with the 285's

Years ago I was on a budget and went the spacer route. I made the mistake. Ride quality did in fact suffer. I ended up replacing the suspension again a couple months ago, and won't look back. A world of difference.

With regards to 285's and what was mentioned above, 2-3'' of lift is one of the variables that will help along with UCA's, and finding the sweet spot with proper rim backspacing. Best case will be light trimming, worst case the CHOP.
