    simple things for now
Been waiting for some decent/warmer weather also too. Although work schedule has been crazy and my luck would be to be working when the good days come.

Can you guys give a recommendation on a hi lift jack? What size and does brand matter?

I like my Hi-Lift brand 48", I have the normal one not the extreme. As a DCSB that's probably your best bet. If you go up to the 60" it's literally going to be the same length as your bed.

Hi-Lifts by nature are sketchy enough that I feel better having the name brand versus some knockoff. Plus the price difference is negligible, from a quick look most off brands are within $10 of the name brand. Hi-Lift brand is also nice because their replacement parts and rebuild kits are readily available.

    This is what I have:

Perfect, thanks. And yeah I figured 60 inch was overkill being the full length of my bed.

Would also recommend a slider adapter for it too to reduce the sketchiness factor

Bunch of stuff bolted on, some cool, some not
+1000 on this. I picked up a half-size shovel from Home Depot and it has been the most used piece of equipment by far. It has definitely dug my ass out of walking home more than once.

Seems like everything comes at once: RCI skids got dropped at my buddies shop yesterday, new tires tomorrow & picking up my sliders at MetalTech on Tuesday on my way home. Now if the weather would just cooperate that would be fantastic.

Yeah, I’m a dad so I always get dad gifts. My wife actually got me a sweet fly rod rack for the truck this year, so no complaints. This is more of a dad funded Christmas lol

Maybe someone on here can help me. My girl has been asking to go on a winter picnic and I was thinking the coast. It seems like it's going to be dry this weekend and nothing beats the coast! I have an awning that I was thinking of using in case it does drizzle so my question is; where in the Oregon coast can I take my truck and have a nice view for a picnic? Room to set up a blanket or some chairs/tables. I'm trying to avoid just parking somewhere and walking to the beach. Maybe a place off-road where we can be close to my car in case we need to use the awning or if it's freezing cold lol. I forgot what beaches allow for vehicles to drive on the sand. I also don't have any recovery gear other than a shovel so maybe the sand would be a bad idea? I know super random question haha. I didn't want to make a post about it. Hoping someone here can share a nice spot to drive to or if there is a better place to ask this question, please let me know! Preferably nothing past Lincoln City.

    TIA!!

Think North. Try the beach around Warrenton. I think this time of year you can still drive all the way to the Columbia Jetty. This might not be true any longer... But the gearhart to Warrenton beach is a good close bet. The whole stretch between those towns is open to traffic.

If you're willing to drive a bit further north you can cross the Astoria bridge and head for Longbeach WA. That whole beach is drivable (last northern stretch is closed to cars). We like to hit the first beach access in longbeach and wrap back south. Fire and car friendly beach! Just mind the tide and stick to the firm sand. Picture was in the rain as it was getting dark.
