Sorry if this has been posted before. Did a search and found mostly information on lifted Tacomas.

2012 Sport double cab 4WD completely stock and not looking to lift it. Used mostly for on road and highway driving. Almost 200,000 miles with the stock shocks but of course they are shot. Looking for recommendation for a good quality shock that will give OEM sport ride or better.

    Thanks

OEM Bilstein 4600s would be a good solution.

    Bilstein or OEM

KYB makes a good shock too, their Excel-G is a touch stiffer than stock

Bilstein 5100s would be a slight upgrade. Run the front shocks on the first notch if you don't want a lift.

Another option would be yellow Bilstein takeoffs from 3rd gen TRD Off Road from people who upgraded. Ask around in your local TacomaWorld section or classifieds.

I second the takeoffs suggestion. You can probably find some lightly used takeoffs (less than 20-30k miles) for much cheaper than new shocks. Even better if they are complete takeoffs, meaning no springs to compress or screw with.

I did the same with my 2012 Sport: it now has factory OR suspension in front, and the progressive springs are an improvement for daily driving and small bumps.

My truck is stock and sees very little off road use

I replace all shocks with Bilstein 4600 (The OEM Billy's are smaller in diameter size)

I noticed a big difference in the ride quality
