It's one thing to see a similar setup, but its entirely another to see it in very similar settings!

Just stopping in to say hello and enjoyed the recent Owens Valley photo you posted.

Daughter did so well in HS she was offered academic scholarship to about anywhere, but after 1 semester at University of Nebraska she decided on a community college is going for associate's degree in Power Generation and Operations. Son doing the same. It's kind of crazy some of these kids right out of school with associates degrees land jobs $36.00 a hour to start, some even quite a bit more than that.
My wife was glad she purchased kayaks when she did because she was looking for one a little wider for stability and like you said there wasn't many if anything available.
And no secret code haha, the wife brought the ducks inside because it had gotten so cold. PIA, if you wanted my opinion but the daughter really thought she needed themo_O
Yeah, don't need any viruses for sure.

Power Generation and Operations huh?? Funny, I work for the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the largest municipal utility in the country. We are unique in that we generate, transmit, AND distribute power, something the P.U.C. outlawed years ago. It's a great employer and offers top tier compensation and benefits! And they have positions outside of the L.A. basin. (thankfully!) Your kids will do great in this industry!

It is great time to get into the industry with all of the change going on. Renewable energy has nothing but growth ahead! Good for your kids!!

    Good luck your your ducks!!

    Good morning!

Welp, I am studying work stuff this morning (interview prep). I should work around the house today, but the weatherman says that it's gonna be 65° and mostly sunny. I may get out and goof around some... Prolly more of the same tomorrow.

    How about yourself?

Yes it does. Also makes you have funny feelings in your chest which lead to a heart cath  Luckily it’s nothing and my ticker is in good shape. This in turn got me off this week and brought me to this great thread.

Seriously, it pushed me to getting serious about retiring. I’ve got 2 projects at work to finish up then I have a BUNCH of vacation time on the books. I expect to go on terminal leave by late summer, then I’ll start putting some miles on the truck and visiting places. Don’t be surprised when I hit you up for good places in DV and the Owens Valley. Lol.

No Shit?!? "funny feelings in your chest and a heart Cath??" and you say it's nothing?? Sounds damn scary to me!
Well, I hope you are healthy and happy. Ya' gotta save some of yourself for the retirement years.

I have a spare bedroom and I know a few cool spots to visit!

Yes, no shit, at least that’s what the cardiologist says now.

I told my primary care doc about the funny chest feelings at my annual physical. None of them were the “classic heart attack” type pains. I really thought they were muscle spasms from a compressed disk in my back. My doc said could be, let’s send you to a cardiologist just to be sure. Short version of the story, cardiologist says I have an abnormal EKG and she needs to do a heart cath to see what wrong. At that point I went in to full oh shit mode thinking I may have had a mild heart attack. That was on Thursday, heart cath is scheduled for Monday. I try not to stress and worry over the weekend. Monday they do the procedure. After the cardiologist tells me there was no blockage, no damage, she didn’t place any stents, and my heart is fine. She now thinks the abnormal EKG was me stressing and elevated blood pressure. Has referred me back to my primary for the BP.

I’ve since talked to several friends who have had a heart cath for serious issues and a nurse friend who did cardiac care. All are very surprised multiple EKGs and a stress test was not done. I’m really beginning to think they were after insurance money. Lol. I hope.

Follow up scheduled with my primary.

Maybe at the end of the year you can show me around

That is crazy!! That sounds like on long weekend to me! Yeah, let's hope that they were only after your insurance...
You might consider asking your PC doc if it is normal (acceptable) to forgo EKG/Stress Tests. If there is an issue, you damn sure want to know about it.

I plan on having a long talk with my PC.

Back from the dealership, truck is all serviced. They did the ECM flash without any argument. I could tell the truck drove differently immediately on leaving the parking lot. Throttle is more responsive, no dead pedal feeling when you first press the accelerator. Shifting is better, doesn’t try to get into 6th by 30 mph. I’m liking it already.
