Hello TW,

My 3rd Toyota, first Tacoma; new to the forum.

I ordered this vehicle in late October and took delivery in early January. Been loving the truck despite the long, cold winter here in the Northeast. Every time we get a storm and they salt the roads, I cringe--I'm sure we all want to hang on to that new car smell and look for as long as possible...

Anyhow, I've been coming to these forums as a guest to get information about various things and found a lot of answers and helpful folks, so I decided to join this community.

I'm planning to multitask my Tacoma as a commute vehicle, working truck for household fix-up projects, and for family and scout camping, so I've put on a Peragon tonneau, a BedRug, and ordered a a Napier Sportz tent based on the recommendations of TW forum members.

Hoping to order some seat covers soon, probably Wet Okole's, and perhaps some other future mod ideas that might come up in these threads.

I'm not super-wired to my email, so I'll apologize in advance if I don't respond right away.

Like the color of your Tacoma a lot--I was originally after Army Green but that was a 6-9 month wait. I'm happy with the blacked out Metallic Gray but it sure does show salt spray.

Thank you, Hobbs! I miss the rugged beauty of the Sierras --used to live in CA a couple of decades ago! Had an unforgettable solo hike up Mt. Tallac in the Desolation Wilderness once--had no gear, and the daylight was waning, but I wished then that I could have hiked a bit further and pitched a tent near Snow or Azure lake.

 

Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you've picked up some nice gear or and have plans to. I drove to Massachusetts one time and worked for about a month. Those salt and chemicals do some damage to vehicles.

Yes the road salt is no fun for keeping up vehicles, especially when you are in that honeymoon phase. Some people around here just have "beaters" that they drive Dec-March. Are you a pastry chef?
