Still pretty beat up health wise but at least I found a replacement taco as of last night.
2021 v6 sr that had 2 miles on it before my test drive...absolutely loving it so far. Hopefully this one will last a few decades

Thanks again for the kind words everyone.

Sucks to see that happen, glad you found a suitable replacement.

Glad you are ok. Im curious about the he said, she said coments and no witnesses.
Your headlights were literally pointed at atleast 3 witnesses that were sitting at the same red light that the woman who hit you ran thru. Did army dude and the woman that got out of her car bail and not give a report?

2 miles on it? I don't know man, you should have waited for one with lower mileage or bought a new one. LOL
This looks like it can make the sting go away. good for you enjoy.

Naw, quite a few people stayed, they all just said they couldn't say for sure who was at fault. Kinda dumb but yeah, luckily it didn't matter.

That sucks. At least insurance will pay pluse some. As for me because I didn't hit the car that cause the accident. My insurance won't pay for my truck.20210220_174701.jpg 20210220_174701.jpg 20210221_121312.jpg

That crash looked scary indeed. Glad you're okay, I'm literally on Amazon right now looking at dash cameras. Good advice. Any suggestions? Congrats on the new Tacoma...she's no 2nd gen, but I guess she'll do ;)

What’s the reason they are giving you? Also, who is your coverage through so I can avoid that?

Lawyer up. I was in an accident in 1995, no actual impact but my braking to avoid T-boning someone who backed out into the main road without looking caused me a neck and shoulder injury..took some time but the judge laughed their claim of "no impact no fault" right out of court

Damn OP that super sucks and sorry for the injuries and loss of your truck. *knock on wood* I always say this is the only type of event that will end my ownership of my 2nd gen.

Thanks for sharing your story, I’ve always toyed with the idea of a dash cam and your experience turns into much more of a necessity than a want.

You two, and everyone else. If your insurance company refuses to pay, every state has a Department of Insurance. Contact them ASAP give them your case or claim number and let them have at it. I've done this twice against Progressive and gotten way more money than they would have owed me had they just done their damn jobs the first time.

Sorry to hear about your truck but looks like it did its job as far as protecting you. I hope you're feeling better. After seeing this I'm gonna seriously considering a dash cam. Any recommendations for an older, less techie driver?

So what did she do when you pulled out the dashcam? Did her story change/say she was confused or did she fess up? People are the worst.

I never spoke to her I don't think, just the officers who relayed information. Pretty good concussion apparently so the last 3 weeks are hazy to say the least.

Again the dashcam was the Akaso V1 for anyone interested. It looks mostly discontinued, I need to replace it so I just bought a highly rated $40 one off Amazon. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them at this point, no reason to spend a lot of cash, look in the description of what camera sensor is used. Practically all of them $40-$150 use the same sony camera sensors.

Here is the new one I went with. $34 if you have prime.

Sorry about the truck, OP. Thank you for sharing your experiences, especially as regards the dash cam. I contemplated purchasing one but your post moved up my timeline. Quick question: do you leave the dash cam plugged in? I know I can probably look this up, but presumably there shouldn't be any power draw if it is left plugged in?
