I got a 2021 Taco this past December. It's a 2.7 double cab. Its sluggishness is the stuff of legend and I sometimes wonder what would happen if I took it to a dealer to upgrade to the V6. I probably won't and I think the 2.7 will be fine for 90% of my usage here in the flatlands of Houston.

Still, I've heard stories of people upgrading or trading up for dirt cheap during promos or because their particular configuration was in high demand. A friend of mine got a new Tundra. Two years later under weird circumstances, he traded it in and paid $1500 for a brand new one. Has anyone here managed to trade up or in some other way upgrade for crazy deals?

Like a casino the car dealer nearly always wins.

The operative word is "nearly." I can hope! :fingerscrossed:

You’re in Houston. You recently bought the truck. Take it to Don McGill and bend them over. They are desperate to deal. Just go mess with them and state your offer/stance.

They need to move vehicles. Take advantage of that.

Squeeze every dime out of them. You’re the driver.

Get what you want, or walk. Cost you nothing with that approach.

    :)
