I just installed the JVC 10.1 radio with the Maestro RR2. I lost all my Safety Sense features. No longer get the warning beeps when backing up or lane change lights in my mirror. Anyone else that has used the RR2 or RR lose Safety sense or parking assist?

This is the reason I chose integration rather than radio replacement in my 4Runner. I don’t know what the consequences would be without doing it.

What we need is someone, or other people who’ve done it to chime in on what happened in their trucks, or someone that completely understands the safety sense system to say “oh yeah, that shouldn’t have happened, or oh yeah, that shit needs the factory radio to work.”

I can toggle mine on/off using the steering wheel buttons. Maybe you just need to figure out why those buttons aren’t doing that (if this is the case).

Ok, so I didn't actually lose my safety sense. It was just a coincidence, and I overlook the first step to basic trouble shooting. Look at the simple things first. I had ovtune flashed earlier in the day. When he flashed it, he turned off all accessories including parking and blind spot monitoring. I just didn't notice the lights for those switches off. Since I hadn;t touched them I didn't think to look there. Oh well all is good now.

After a couple adjustments, it sits up pretty close to the dash. Sounds alot better than the stock jbl system sounded.

I just got the same stereo. I hooked up the HDMI and the Maestro RR2. Did you figure out how to deal with the parking break issue in order to watch movies? I figure the RR2 should be able to act as a Micro Bypass?
