VF Tuner Help Again :(

Sorry guys I am a complete gorilla when it comes to the new stuff. Anyways can I buy a tune for an 04B04 ecu and flash it onto a 04B33 ecu? If not what are my options. Thanks in advance this forum has saved my builds life so many times. BTW I'll be showing of my 3rd Gen X-Runner soon. This tax return I hope to get it revving to 8k.

NO...VFtune is ECU and VIN specific now. If you have have another truck with a 04B33 you can buy credits to unlock the 04B33 ECU and credits for new VIN.

 

Well its the other way around for me. I have a 04B32, and I wanted to flash it with a 04B04 tune. Could I buy the credits to make it work?

 

Depending on the year of your truck and what your ECU ID is will determine what ECU ID you unlock. You can't put a 04B33 tune into a 04B04...won't work! That is why when you connect to your OBDII port it tells you what your trucks ECU ID is. OK...I have a 2016 and my ECU ID was 04B02 before I had a TSB to update my ECU to 04B04. I can't put any other tune in to my ECU because MY ECU will only recognize a 04B04 tune.

Are you hearing of a fantastic tune that is listed as 04B04 and what too put it into your 2019? As stated above won't work BUT @PapaRee who makes tunes for several year trucks like the a 04B04 kruiser 4.0 in a 04B33 I believe. You would have to contact him and he can help you out. Most of us that have gotten his tunes giving some beer/gas money for his time and fuel. I hope this clear some things up or still clear as mud?
