I left my native home of San Diego 7 years ago and took a job relocation to Columbus, Ohio... I still drive around with my So Cal Tacoma sticker on.

Mostly I miss the off road trails and taco shops...

Actually the best I've found here in Ohio is a sit down place somewhat like Casa de Pico in Grossmont, but the owner and his family are transplants from Orange County.

Still, there's nothing like a carne asada burrito from a So Cal taco shop.... This is what you sacrifice when you move for a cheaper cost of living.

Perfect weather and being 5 minutes from the beach are all the reasons I need to not want to be anywhere else.

I agree and after talking with my relatives in Ohio they don’t want to move to CA. Enjoy.

I did basically the exact opposite. Moved from the Dayton, OH area to SOCAL. Specifically in South Orange County. OH weather sucks...

funny...I have lived in Columbus all my life...and now want out. It is now a big city. I never thought I would think that, or that we would not just be an oversized county seat, but it has happened...it used to be a cool little "secret"

looking to retire to someplace with less people and more snow...

You'd think so, but with the cost of living and jobs I see a ton of CA license plates out here.

All things considered, Ohio is a great place to raise a family and I really can't complain. However, I was born in Long Beach and raised in San Diego and I miss being within a short drive to the beach, mountains, and desert... And taco shops.

Fortunately, there are plenty of Toyota off-road peeps here so that's a plus and my house is twice the size for less than half the cost it was in SD... Not to mention $2 a gallon gas is nice. :amen:

Yep, got to be cheaper than 5 minutes from the beach. A few decades ago a teeny tiny studio apartment was $800.00 a month. Five minute walk from beach..

yep..the cost of living here has always been awesome...

I would also imagine that it seems way less crowded to you...my cousin moved from here to SoCAL about 20 years ago, and that was his biggest adjustment...the proximity of people. He also had to get real used to "not having seasons"
