I looked up Gorman off-road trials at Hungry Valley and saw that a lot of the "easy" trails are going up on high inclines so now I'm looking at Ocotillo Wells... I have a bone stock 2021 SR Access Cab 4cyl 2WD and am wanting to take it on some dirt roads and easy trials if Ocotillo has any?

    Thanks

There are plenty of trails/ roads out there that a 2wd truck can handle. In the OHV area there’s pole line road and most of the washes (San Felipe) are relatively easy as long as you air down and carry some momentum. There’s also some other trails that are non OHV outside the park area. Just use common sense and try to avoid going it alone.

Is this a Prerunner or a 5 lug?

Edit: just saw your avatar so I'm assuming it's a prerunner.

Prerunners are fairly capable off road. Best way to find out HOW capable is to go try it. Have a friend with a 4x4 nearby to help, though...

It's just a base SR 4cyl with the SX exterior package so the rims are different and I do think it rides a bit higher.

A 2WD truck can absolutely have some fun out in Ocotillo Wells. I grew up in East County San Diego and Ocotillo Wells was my off road camping and wheeling playground for years. I've seen regular passenger cars out there on power line road. There are places out there where the sand can get a little deep which you might need to get pushed/pulled out of. Be sure to air your tires down a bit and I would recommend you go with someone else for the first time who knows the trails (and can potentially pull you out if you get stuck.)

fully armored, 4.88, 33 skinnies, tundra brakes, a REAL cold air intake.
You can do most of Anza B in a prerunner...

    I don't believe a base model 4cyl SR qualifies as a prerunner
