What works to remove windshield streaks?

I have an issue where my wiper blades have left path marks on the windshield
accross the surface. It is not scratches. More like a haze.
I tried to clean the entire surface with rubbing alcohol and no luck.

Any help on this would be great...

 

Cerium Oxide which is a glass polish. They sell it in powder form but the easier route is to buy Carpro Ceriglass. They sell it it various sizes and I think you can get it with a little hand block to use with it. Aside from a really small defect you're going to want a polisher and to use . Not saying it's not possible to remove defects by hand it may take forever. Even with a machine and the right pads it can take MANY passes to remove the marks left by wipers. Forget about chasing deep scratches or pits, it will take forever to get them removed.

Check out some videos on it, also note that it dries fairly quickly so keep it wet and you'll likely need a bottle of water handy to spray when wiping up the spent compound. If you end up using a rotary with ceriglass plan expect it to sling product everywhere. Cover the paint and nearby areas that you don't want ceriglass to get on. As mentioned it's not fun to wipe off when it dries. Move anything within a nearby radius, especially another vehicle. A random orbital polisher won't sling anywhere near as much but will take more passes than a rotary.

 

Thanks for the info, The windshield does have a very small crack ( most likely from a rock) about the size of a dime.
Not enough to bother with a new windshield. It does have some pits not too deep though.
The haze is more like what would be from cheap wiper blades. Makes driving into oncoming sunlight very
scary because you just see glare almost like the window is fogged over. It only shows right in the path
of where the wipers hit. I agree a glass polish is the way to go here. Thanks

0000 steel wool and Windex works wonders .

 

I went over the entire windshield with a micro polish product and it did help but failed
to completely remove the streaks. I did this twice and then put rainx on the surface.
Seems to be much better. I was hoping for better results though.

Micro polish meant for paint? Paint is very soft compared to glass and a micro polish is usually the least aggressive approach or a final step to clean up compounding.

 

Here’s what my windshield looks like after 0000 steel wool. Like @lynyrd3 said it works.

 

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT. use the 0000 steel wool on plastic headlight lenses or tail lights. The 0000 wool will scratch the hell out of them.

It was not a paint product. it was made for glass. it has a mild abrasive in it.

 

I'm going to look into getting the steel wool and give that a shot.

You are going to need a stronger abrasive and a machine polisher off you have access to one. I would not use steel wool. There are other ways to skin that cat.

 

Steel wool 0000 is super fine . It’s easy and it will not scratch the glass. I do it a couple times a year

 

Then I really question what you are doing to have to use steel wool a couple of times a year.
