What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

My 2020 Pro arrives tomorrow from Dallas and already have a few parts ready for install - OEM bed mat, Truxedo Pro X15 tonneau cover, Hikari LED headlight bulbs and dropping off Wednesday to get 5% tint all the way around and a 50% tinted front windshield. Need to get everything ready for a small road trip slated for next Monday, needless to say I am excited for this truck. Will post pics once this stage is complete

 

I feel your pain. Hopefully they gone on for you. Do you find it harder to put on now that the flares have been sprayed?

 

Yes absolutely. I almost wished I would have put the gasket on first and taped it prior to linex spray. When I got home to try the gasket, just like a slip and slide. Tried super glue, then I gave up for the night because so wanted to smash them on the concrete. Haven’t messed with it for a few days. I’ll give it another go soon. Maybe I’ll have better luck. Haven’t had to put something on so slippery in awhile lol

 

Had same issues. I had to use some double sided tape to try to get it stay in place. However, that didn't work too well either for the top.

 

I put my gaskets on first before I dropped them off at Line-X. Glad I did because the Line-X basically sealed the outside part of the gaskets. Wish I lived near you, I would help you out

How do you think Line-X would work if one designed an aluminum panel for the tailgate and covered it in Line-X?

these are what i used:

 

The back of the factory plug, is that a standard USB port? I need to install my DMM and I want to run the wire from my ProClip mount into the factory plug, but wanted to hide it behind the dash. It looks like I could just pull out the usb portion, leave the cap in the dash, and have a stealth mount.

My alternate plan was to run the cord over to the glovebox and move the USB port there. That way I could unplug my ProClip if I needed to do a firmware update or something. Not sure if that is a thing or not though.

 

Pretty sure that big black plug goes into the OFF/ON door button, the Grey goes into the headlight Auto, and the last one maybe goes into the traction control button.

 

Yeah it is a plain USB, just had to Dremmel off the aluminum shroud so it could fit. Since the plug didn't work for video I can't confirm but you may need to modify a bit more to ensure the contacts all touch; Just removing plastic carefully, no soldering or anything.
