    Yeah, it looks fairly fast.

Also looks moderately not fun to drive; in a few of the videos you can actually see the driver wrestling with the wheel (which would probably induce some pretty severe pucker at 200mph  )

I agree, did you notice the jump in speed from the 1/4 mile mark to making 200mph at the 1/2 mile. Holy ph..k,
    Pucker factor by 10 Lol

Yeah, definitely into the power band for that stretch.

I think that half of my posts here have been of 61 Impala bubble-tops and 62 Bel Air bubble-tops. I'm a wood flooring contractor and today I was looking at a floor and as I was leaving I noticed one of those vintage Chevy signs with a 1961 Impala. I casually said "that's my favorite year" and the lady says her husband recently passed away and he had a few classics including a 61 Impala and offered to show me.
I used to have an aqua 63 Impala but a 61 Impala bubble-top in aqua has been my dream car for a long time. She says that she's not ready to sell but she will sell them eventually because she doesn't want them to just sit. He also had a 1940 Chevy truck that was probably cleaner than the Impala and a 1965 El Camino.

'61 is my favorite year too. I had a four door in high school, and it was a great car. The aqua one is most excellent. Thanks for the pic.

And not a PH sort of F.

If I had a '68 Charger (my personal dream car #1) and the girl I was with told me that she wanted me to trade it in on some fancy Volkswagen POS I'd tell her to pack up her stuff & get out as soon as I caught my breath when I finished laughing.

...^^^... No ... I wish for a 440 ... G/S Dodge did small mods that were advertised at certain MoPar dealers like Colonial Dodge in the DC area.

Doing this from memory ... That Dart was a modified 340-275 stock unit that G/S Dodge pumped up to 315 HP IIRC. It was an automatic and had the COPO look with blue painted rims, dog dish caps, and rubber floor mats.

It was almost as powerful as the 383-330 Dart ... which was rare.

I sold the 340 and later bought a 383 Dart and the 340-315 was faster off the line.

I love the Mopar 383's ... but the little 225 (slant 6) and 273's and 340's were great underrated engines too.

I can only imagine what a 440 or a 426-425 would be like in a light Dart.

IIRC .... Chrysler backed G/S Dodge's with a full factory MoPar warranty ... at least they did on my mild-mod.

Mr. Norm did a lot for MoPar's racing development too.

One of my biggest regrets (going back in time now) was not visiting the big 3 or 4 dealerships ... Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago ... Yenko Chevrolet in PA and Royal Pontiac in MI.

Not sure who was the big hitter in Ford in the 1960's ... maybe Galpin Ford in CA ?

I know a guy with 2 69 Spaulding 440 Darts. One is white with a black tail stripe and black interior. The other is black with a red tail stripe and tan interior. Collectively the cars have maybe 25 miles on them from new. They are perfect

...^^^... My 340 was blue with a black tail stripe with black taxi cab type vinyl interior and rubber floor covering.

I took a hairdryer and heated that black stripe and pealed it off ... how stupid was that o_O ... (because it was hard to wax next to the strip and I wanted that stripped down COPO look too). My stripe was some kind of plastic tape and not painted on like some were.

The guy who has the like new 440 Darts with virtually no miles like that .... has maybe the only ones in the world like that too ... priceless.
