Mornin all. Currently working on the 3rd Ridgid sander that has nearly set itself on fire. ooooo this is exciting

 

If it's any consolation ours are dinged up and need a good paint and we rarely touch salt. My .02 is it just comes with the territory of having ones that aren't aggressively powder coated

 

These came bare from Mobtown Off-road . My guy sent them out to be sandblasted then he powder coated them . Every year I clean them up and spray with Rustoleum rust reformer then spray with bed liner . They are 3 years old

 

Bed liner...Had mine done 2 years ago and no chips and no rust. I drive gravel roads a lot and we have a lot of salt.

 

The shop I use has a huge Powder coat booth . A year after they were starting to get surface rust and the shop owner told me PC has a hard time clinging to curved areas If I knew that I would have just primed and painted with rattle cans

 

Mine were powder coated first then I spray rust reformer,then bed liner .

 

I wouldn't have guessed those were powder coated

Ours were bare from bamf and we just rattle canned them over a few days.

Maybe when you respray them this year try putting tape on those heavily hit areas for added protection?

 

If they were not welded on I would send them out to be blasted again .

 

Time to find a new powdercoater. Powercoat sticks to almost any surface, prepwork is key.
