So I got a dash cam for my Taco
I want to power it using a source from the over head light area.
I bought a step down converter
After removing the over head panel I found a unused plug (Pic Below).
I think the plug is for mirror cam which I do not have.
To use the switched power which i would like to do with out a tap do they make a plug end that fits?
I checked the plug 3 wires -1 power constant, 1 key on power, the other one I guess is a ground.
Sorry -I getting old wiring is just not my thing anymore

The plug is there you would just need the repair kit. 30 dollars for 3 wires. I ended up just cutting off plug and wiring in my camera and new auto dimming mirror. You will most likely pop a 7.5a fuse under the hood if you touch the constant power. You will notice when a bunch of lights come on. (Airbag,SRS, Check Engine). I stripped down a old 2 usb plug and solder on wires. It turned out nice and I don’t have wires running all over the place.
