How'd the install go? Care to break down what you used, the parts needed, and any hang ups or tips you'd have? Any airbag lights?

Parts list, 2014-18 corolla steering wheel and air bag, 2015- 18 Toyota Tacoma clock spring & steering wheel wiring harness. Used the original Corolla steering wheel controls only had to change the harness to match the clock spring. All buttons work except for return & display buttons. Have to see if i can get the lens to light on the steering wheel. No air bag light on. Took precautions to start vehicle when installation was finished, started it with remote control which I bought from 12volt solutions.

Was able to get the steering led lights to work, had to add an extra pin. Was unable to getting work with illumination from my head unit so I connected it to acc, that way it lights up when I turn the vehicle on,it’s not that visible during the day but it supposed to be ok in the night.

i liked that you swapped out the whole steering wheel. How do you like the feel compared to the original? i got a Chinese cover, and replaced the airbag with the new cover, eliminating having to buy a new airbag. then i bout aftermarket SWC and clock spring. look Great but the connectors between the CS and SWC don't match ;( gotta find out which one needs to be replaced....

On the clock spring outputs to swc1 is usually ground & #4 is positive, I changed it around to match my steering wheel controls. On the clock spring input # 1input is a solid green wire which is ground, I repinned to positive & added a pin to # 4 to ground. Did all my testing with a multimeter before installation. I first opened up the swc controls and tested the illumination with a 12volt battery. The leds are polarity sensitive. You will notice that on the swc controls 2 pins are bridged, one is +illumination the other is -

Has anybody swapped a steering wheel without controls for one with controls? I've got an 05' without controls, but added a Jenson head unit, is the harness the same? id like to swap for an 11'-15' steering wheel...
