SOS Weld-It-Yourself Front Bumper Fog Lights

Hi all!

I did do a bit of searching before posting this—but please, if I've overlooked where this information is already, tell me and we can delete this, because there are few things I dislike more than needlessly duplicating information.

I bought the SOS Concepts WIY bumper a while back, and finally got around to welding it together with a good friend of mine. Mine came with no instructions, and if it weren't for a handful of competing priorities and deadlines, I would have gladly embraced the puzzle! I had tried emailing a number of times prior, shortly after getting the bumper, asking for recommendations on winches, (but I can see now that the platform is plenty big for pretty much any winch) and I'd called a number of times to see what could be done about the missing instructions. Oh well, adapt and overcome. I think we did a bang-up job on it (major props to my friend). I got to try my hand at welding, and the angles and gaps of everything came out freaking sweet. He even welded the hoops the next day while I was at work. Without my truck as a reference, but he crushed it. Ok, enough bromance.

The reason why I'm here is I've got a tentative trip coming up so I'm trying to hustle on the last bits. I'm in the process of grinding it down, and then I'm going to get it powder coated. I'd like to weld on what we're pretty sure are the foglight mounts, but I'm not sure where to place them, let alone which fog-lights to get. So here we are at my actual intent for this thread:

Does anybody have this bumper, or feels familiar enough with it's kind to recommend a pair of fog-lights? I'm not looking to spend $1000 on fog-lights, but I don't see a reason to cut corners here. I was leaning toward Baja Designs Squadron Sport Amber Fog Lights, but IDK if that's the best option given the bumper and fog light cutouts.

The spot for the fog-lights is kinda wonky-oval shaped, and at an angle towards the side ditch, so presumably I'd set them back a bit so they could point out straight. Not really sure why they had to be at that angle.

I have an older pelfry, but I will say that diode dynamics fog lights absolutely blow all the other competition out of the water. You'll pay for them, but they are AMAZING. And, completely street legal unlike other "fog lights". I have the pro versions, but they offer cheaper ones that have less output. They come in a variety of mounting styles so you'll be able to find some that fit your bumper.

I kinda wish someone would make a dual pair where one could flip a switch and they'd change from SAE compliant to off-road-light-em-up compliant.

I grabbed a pair of the Stage Series 3" SAE/DOT Yellow Pro Angled LED Pod. They will definitely not get here in time for me to complete my setup, but I think the wait will be worth it. They've got all the measurements on their website (which the guy directed me to after I called support and he graciously gave me all the measurements anyway), so I should be able to guesstimate it well enough to get this sucker powder coated in time...

My truck never came stock with fog lights, so I wired in a set when I had the stock bumper. When I replaced it, I just spliced them into my old wiring. It's basic, a stock style switch in the cab wired up to a relay that switches the fogs. The diode dynamics lights come with deutsch style connectors and a harness you can splice into your existing wiring, or create your own wiring from. High quality stuff. They do offer complete harness kits too.

Edit- I think diode is coming out with a combo/dual light solution like you describe. But I'm not sure if they could be turned on independent of each other. A neat idea they should think about..
