Or maybe we will call it a refresh...

A little back story. in 2004-2005 I was apart of a build on the new 2005 Tacoma truck. It was done for a cable show, I think it was tough truckin with Ivan stewart. I sat there with my then customer/friend Wyatt. He had a 2002 Tacoma that we already had plans to do a solid axle swap on. I leaned over to him and said, hey... Sell your truck and lets get the new 2005 Tacoma and be the first to swap one. With out hesitation his response was OK.
If you search out that Magazine you'll see my much younger self holding a torch in front of the Tacoma before we cut it. The Owner of the magazine David was there the first day as we cut into a brand new paper plated truck.

Fast forward 16 years and I had an opportunity to buy this truck from the original owner. The truck has seen better days but it's a trail proven solid machine.

Our plans are to give it a much needed face lift.

Our new Tacoma bumper, we may do the first or 2nd Rally bumper (hybrid) on this truck.

We are going to clean it up and give it a Toyota Radiant red re-paint.

We also have some lights from rigid industries that will replace the very old lights that currently hang off the truck.

Did we miss anything? what would you do if you owned this truck, what would you do with it?

Last but not least, it's getting a new name. We were thinking Nacho Taco (unless someone already claimed that one)

All I can say is this Barcelona truck better get the 2nd or 3rd Rally Bumper Jacinto! Also buddy----taper in the bash plate toward the bottom that attaches in to the ambulance bar for a less bulky look. Wide at the top narrowed in at the bottom to match the IFS skid plate widths. Also, don't go as wide on the corner edges like the FJ Rally for guys that dont run glass or have trimmed fenders or offer two versions since all you need to do is extend the tubes?

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
If I was the owner of that truck, besides the radiant red coloring, I'd try doing actual nacho chips/cheese/jalapenos graphics on the side.

But to be fair, I like weird shit so

The problem with tapering it in is your bolt pattern would be more exposed, it would look like one of those silly prerunner bumpers trying to look like it has center mounted a-arms.hahah We are going radiant red on this tacoma. I believe that was a factory option somewhere in the 2005-2011 model year and for sure was in the 96-04 model years

It sure is. that widened bumper will soon be for sale. We are just waiting for our new fiberglass to come in. I may sell all the fiberglass too but it's a little banged up i may just throw it on the wall as wall art.
