Seems like a really silly thing to do. You won't save any money and in fact you'll no doubt lose a great bit trading off a new truck just to have less stuff.

Mechanical: SR V6 has 4.3 gears. So does the Sport manual, but the auto is 3.something.

I think the V6 is far more common in the SR5 than SR.

Mechanically nothing is different unless you consider struts and wheel weight/size substantial enough. The SR lacks a lot of features that you take for granted(cruise control, intermittent wipers, auto wipe when spraying washer fluid, keyless entry). All of this can be added with OEM parts but some will require splicing into wires but this opens up a possibility of wiring issues later on.

if I could back track I would have done a SR5 crew cab V6 4x4. In fact that would have done it anyways if there was stock. Never understood why the local dealers here only ever get TRD or fully loaded SR5s.

As I mentioned the diff gearing is better on the SR (4.3) My SR has factory: Radar cruise control, intermittent wipers, auto wipe (never heard it called that, sounds toilet related) and remote entry. It also has Auto climate control and dual zone temps.

That doesn't sound right, l believe only 4 Cylinder AT and V6 MT SR got 4.30.

Look at specs on Toyota.com I looked up my code at one point and it says it has it, according to data I found on TW. The SR is not available with a V6 and a MT, at least in Access Cab
. Otherwise I would have probably got it. Only the Sport is available (this year) with a Access Cab and MT.

Here is from Toyota's website. I did not quite believe this prior to purchase so it was one of the first things I checked when I got home with it. This is part of the reason I bought the SR over other trims.

That is probably just a typo unless they changed something for 2021, you can decode the axle code on your door sticker to be sure.

As mentioned before, I did suspect this was wrong and checked it when I got home. The code looks to support it being a 4.3. And I would have been pissed as it was part of why I bought it...

If memory serves me, the door sticker Axle Code 06 is 4.30 and 07 is the 3.91's

when I spray the washer fluid on my 18 SR it doesn’t turn on the wipers. Just sprays. Have to manually turn on the wipers to clear away the fluid.

I assume the non intermittent wipers are like this unless it’s been broken this whole time. I did not recall the utility pack(what I have on mine) removing much other than the rear seats and remote entry.

Auto climate and dual zone must be new for 2021. I didn’t not see it as an option for the 2020 SR. Auto climate was one of the main features I wanted. Then I just miss intermittent wipers, I didn’t even realize my SR didn’t have it. Figured every car would have it since it’s 2020

Well I went out to my truck and looked so I could prove you incorrect; and failed. Code 07. Now I am grumpy. I planned on 5.29s eventually anyway but thought 4.3 would hold over for a bit for when I get bigger tires. You were more informed than Toyota. Nice job.

Sorry to hear that brother but no big deal if you plan to upgrade in the future.

Yeah, thanks Man... Nice to have someone from OH correct me. I'm from there. Rural place; Farmersville, OH West of Dayton. Wheeled and rode at Haspin Acres lots of times.

I am a couple hours away from Dayton, probably some nice wheeling out that way.
