I have a friend who redid an Empi buggy like that, almost the exact same color. I welded new floor pans in it for him. He kept it a few years and eventually sold it. Neat little project!

I got up close and personal with that one at the Simeone Museum back before the Dark Times. He occasionally gets all his cars out and trundles them around behind the place, and lets people drool directly onto the engines, interiors, etc. It was pretty cool.
    I think that's the Auto Union go-fast-thingamabob.

That love will turn into something else real soon. Any person that allows their significant other to trade in their dream car for anything, is not worth loving. As they don't really love and respect the one with the dream car.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

    That's my 2 cents

That was great, thanks. My favorite was the pre-war Mercedes; when it was coming at you all you heard was supercharger whine. Pretty amazing car.

It reminded me of going to Watkins Glen in the 1960's for the Grand Prix. The sound of the cars would ring through the hills and trees. You could pretty much tell what was coming by the sound of the engine. The V12 Matras sounded the best.

Can't say as I've ever had that experience. Normally I think that watching auto racing (F1, Nascar, drags, circle track, etc) is about as exciting as watching paint dry, but I absolutely love watching the Goodwood vintage stuff; the hill climbs, the touring car races, the prewar stuff, etc.

Not exactly drool worthy, but we bought this over the weekend for the wife; it’s a 2020 Santa Fe Limited.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... I saw a truck that looked a lot like this one except it was not in that good of shape. It was parked at the IHOP in Peachtree Corners about a year ago.

I remembered it because I had not seen anything like it.

I think that I took a pic .... will look for it but have over 70,000 pics in my phone. I take pics of everything and then lose them in my phone. lol

Best engine sound... 1953 3.0 litre BRM H16 - recorded in dual mono (stereo recording wasn't around) Put on headphones and listen to this glorious beast of a sound. It's the devil trapped in an engine.

That is indeed a lovely sound, however you are conflating the BRM V16 with the H16. Different eras. The V16 sang, the H16 did too but had that underlying BLAT of a horizontally opposed engine. I heard the H16 in those Watkins Glen hills. Too young to have heard the V16 driven in anger. :)

Oh wow. I was always under the impression that the BRM's were all H config from 53-59 I think. Thanks
